Exercise that I do includes erging (rowing machine), cycling, swimming (at home) and a bit of pilates/yoga. I also play netball occasionally. Each exercise requires slightly different kit - I get really warm when erging so wouldn't wear a long sleeved top or anything really thick. Cycling, I start off cold (outside!) but then have to remove layers. Yoga, I like to stay covered up, it's not exactly exertion-central.
Personally I go to a cheap sports shop in the Westgate centre (Sportsworld). As I don't run, I don't have expensive trainers. The one thing I do miss is longer tracksuit bottoms, but at least I can wear 3/4 or shorts or buy from Topshop Tall (when they're in stock online, grrr).
Websites I'd like to buy work-out kit from but cannot afford to do so. And there's something inside me that says "Why spend all that money on those things just to sweat massively on them and trash them up a bit?". I suppose they're probably made partly for posing at the gym.
Sweaty Betty
Lululemon
Stella McCartney for Adidas
For now, I'll stick to old tracksuit bottoms, unflattering shorts and a variety of t-shirts. Whilst I'd love to spend a bit more on the "sweat-wicking" more tight-fitting clothes, at the moment, I'd rather spend that money on other things!
Things I would consider buying
Tie pants, Sweaty Betty, £25 in the sale. Shame about the leg length..
Quick transition shorts, Lululemon, unpriced. Would be IDEAL for erging!
Funnel Neck Jacket, Sweaty Betty, £65. Apparently for going to and from the gym. I really like the neck detail and the long cuffs.
Sleeveless hoodie, Sweaty Betty, £13 in the sale. Very tempted, it'd be really useful for cycling...Of course, another important aspect of exercising is the sports bra. Not being overly endowed, it's not an area I feel even remotely qualified to discuss, but it looks (from various websites) like there are lots of options for good sports bras. No need to go unsupported, particularly if you've gone to the effort of actually going to the gym/getting your bike out.
